Muktinath

Muktinath is one of Nepal’s holiest pilgrimages. It is stated that the Chardham yatra is not completed until you reach Muktinath for prayers. As a result, it carries such great religious importance.

Muktinath temple, on the other hand, is located in Mustang, Nepal, at the foot of the Thorong La pass. Such that, it is located in the shadow of huge peaks like Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. The temple is situated 3,710 meters above sea level.

This excursion is fundamentally a pilgrimage that is embellished by both the natural and cultural splendours of the Mustang region. It is said that going to the temple will grant your requests. Hindus call it MuktiKshetra, which means “Moksha place.”

Also, contrary to popular belief, the Muktinath temple is not the temple of Lord Shiva. Over there stands the shrine of Lord Vishnu, known as Mukti Narayan. There are also 108 taps and two small ponds that are meant to wash away all of your sins.

There’s one more intriguing aspect to this place. Unlike any other Hindu temple in Nepal, it has a Buddhist priest, who is a woman. Even the smallest difference in operation demonstrates how deeply this place believes in religious peace.

Aside from that, it’s a lovely spot with a spiritual and serene vibe.
