Ghandruk

Ghandruk is a small Gurung village situated at a distance of 32 km northwest of Pokhara. It simply is a perfect depiction of the Gurung community of Nepal. There are homes constructed in a traditional Nepalese style that are ideal for homestays. Also, there is a museum to provide more accurate information about the Gurung community.

Using local resources, Ghandruk Village, the second Gurung village in Nepal, is promoting rural tourism. In addition, you’ll fall in love with the unspoiled culture, rural way of life, regional cuisine, welcoming atmosphere, and a spellbinding view of the glittering Himalayas.

You can see snow-covered Himalayan peaks without having to hike at altitude because the village is only 2,000 meters (6,562 feet) above sea level. It ranks among the most well-known overnight stops for trekkers in the Annapurna region.

From Ghandruk, you can see the entire Annapurna Mountain range, including Machhapuchre and Himchuli, in all its magnificence. It is also the main gateway to the Poon Hill Trek.
