No matter how hard you try, it is simply an impossible task to do an Everest Base Camp trek in less than a week. But, if you still want to trek in the Everest region within a short period of time, then this trek would be just perfect for you.

In this trek, you would be trekking to one of the beautiful villages of Nepal, Namche Bazaar. It is a getaway to Everest. You can experience the Sherpa lifestyle, culture, and tradition over here. With that, the pictures of the large Himalayas during your trek would just make you overwhelmed.

Everest Short Trek Outlines

Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu

Day 2: Kathmandu sightseeing 

Day 3: Fly to Lukla and trek up to Monjo

Day 4: Trek to Namche Bazaar

Day 5: Namche Bazaar Exploration

Day 6: Hike up to Khumjung village and back to Namche Bazaar

Day 7: Trek Back to Lukla

Note:

Flight to Lukla will take from Ramechhap (Manthali) until November 30, 2023.
There will be no direct flights from Kathmandu to Lukla until November 30, 2023.

From September 25 to November 30, 2023, Lukla flights will operate from Ramechhap (Manthali Airport), 133 kilometers east of Kathmandu. The drive from Kathmandu to Manthali will take around 4 hours. Thus, if you are planning to go to the Everest Region during September and November, you need to be prepared for one or two extra days.

Detail Itinerary

Day 1Arrival at Kathmandu

Kathmandu is the capital city of Nepal as well as the cultural hub of the nation. We would be welcoming you at the Tribhuvan International Airport and after dropping you at the hotel, we would again meet you for the welcome dinner and briefly talk about the trip. Night stay at Kathmandu.

Day 2Kathmandu sightseeing

Today, you will relax and so some sightseeing at Kathmandu. Since, Kathmandu is the home to 7 out of 10 UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Nepal, you will find different exposures of Nepal in small place and time, of course. Night stay at Kathmandu.

Day 3Fly to Lukla and trek up to Monjo

This day, we would be flying to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region after breakfast. The flight would approximately take half an hour. At Lukla, we would have our lunch and then start walking up to Monjo, approximately 4 hours of walk. Night stay at Monjo.

Day 4Trek to Namche Bazaar

Today, we would start our trek toward Namche Bazaar, a heavy Sherpa settlement and the actual gateway to Everest. The trek could be 4-5 hours long with steep trails. Night stay at Namche Bazaar.

Day 5Namche Bazaar Exploration

Namche Bazaar is one of the exceptionally beautiful villages of Nepal, situated right under the great Himalayas. Almost every trekker takes an acclimatization day at Namche since it is essential for trekking at high altitudes. Every Saturday, one temporary market is set up at this height which is called Haatbazaar in the Nepalese language. You get a chance to watch that if we reach Namche on Friday. Besides, you can do a short trek up to Chhorkung above Namche, or you could walk to the short runway at Syangboche to utilize your day at Namche. Night stay at Namche Bazaar.

Day 6Hike up to Khumjung village and back to Namche Bazaar

Since we are not going to Everest Base Camp, we will be spending more time at Namche. Thus, on this day, we would be hiking up to Khumjung village and exploring the surroundings. There are several attractions at Namche. Thus, you could choose where to go and what to do on these two days. The attractions are like this: Sagarmatha National Park Museum Sherpa Cultural Museum Tenzing Norgay Memorial Namche Monastery Sir Edmund Hillary Viewpoint Khunde Monastery Night stay at Namche Bazaar.

Day 7Trek Back to Lukla

After exploring Namche, we would be heading back to Lukla. We could reach back at Lukla in a single day but we have to walk for 6-7 hours. Night stay at Lukla.

Day 8Fly back to Kathmandu

Today, we would fly back to Kathmandu, after having a warm Himalayan breakfast. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you could have half a day sightseeing at Patan and then, we would move toward Nagarkot. Night stay at Nagarkot

Day 9Bhaktapur Exploration

Nagarkot is best known for its sunrise and sunset views. Thus, we would be waking up early in the morning to have a cup of coffee with a stunning sunrise view. After that, we would head toward the cultural town of Bhaktapur for a full day of sightseeing. Night stay at Bhaktapur.

Day 10Departure

Today, we will be dropping you at Tribhuvan International Airport, as per your flight schedule.
