Annapurna Ghorepani Poon hill trek is also known as the small Annapurna Circuit trekking. But it is popular as the Poon hill trek and Ghorepani trek.

The Ghorepani Poon hill trekking is one of the most accessible sunrise points in the Himalayas. Also, this trekking trail is very popular for short trekking and acquire not too dangerous among trekkers visiting Nepal. The mountains, the ethnic villages, and the unique culture confirm the popularity of Ghorepani trekking.

The trekking commences from Pokhara city which is a paradise for nature lovers. In the spring season, the Ghorepani trekking trail is ablaze with flowering rhododendrons- a paradise of the botanical.

The trek passes through Ulleri village(2,073 m). The trail ascends to the Ghorepani (2,850 m) through the thick forest and highland scrub. And, exotic plants and trees of rhododendron, magnolia, and a myriad of orchids, of course. Ghorepani has several good lodges where you can spend a night.

The main attraction of Ghorepani trekking is Poon Hill. It is situated at an altitude of 3,210 m. It is one of the most spectacular mountain spots on earth from here you can enjoy fabulous sunrise over the Himalayas. From Poon hill can enjoy splendid Himalayan views including the Mount Dhaulagiri 8,167 m, Annapurna I 8,091 m, Machhapuchhre Himal 6,998 m, Nilgiri 7,041 m, Annapurna South 7,219 m, Annapurna II 7,939 m, Annapurna III 7,555 m, Annapurna IV 7,525 m, Lamjung Himal 6,988 m.

Detail Itinerary

Day 1Arrival at Kathmandu

As per your flight schedule, we will pick you up at Tribhuvan International Airport. After that, we will drop you at the hotel and let you rest. We will, however, reconvene at the welcome dinner to go over the itinerary briefly.

Day 2Kathmandu Sightseeing

On this day, you will go sightseeing in Kathmandu. We will suggest some places, so you can choose where you want to go. You will be doing sightseeing at heritage sites in the Kathmandu valley.

Day 3Kathmandu to Pokhara

You could choose how you would like to go to Pokhara. You can either choose to go by bus or on a flight. Whatever it would be, you would have a penalty for not doing sightseeing.

Day 4Pokhara to Nayapul and Tikhe Dhungha (1525m)

From Pokhara, it takes around an hour and a half to go to Nayapul. We would begin our 4-5-hour walk from this point. During the journey, you'll be able to see the stunning Machhapuchhre mountain, as well as cultivated farmlands and an unusual suspension bridge. Tikhe Dhunga is where you will spend the night.

Day 5Tikhe Dhunga to Ghorepani

From Tikhe Dhunga, it would take us about 6-7 hours to walk to Ghorepani. However, seeing the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges on our way up would be refreshing. Ulleri, Banthanti, and Nanggethanti are just a few of the gorgeous villages we'll pass through. Ghorepani overnight stay

Day 6Ghorepani to poonhill to Tadapani (2520m)

After a cup of tea, we'd be heading up to Poonhill today. We'd trek for about an hour and then return to Ghorepani for breakfast. Then we'd make our way to Tadapani. Keep your camera (and warm clothes) close as this trail winds downhill and downhill through a variety of vistas and microclimates. Stay the night in Tadapani.

Day 7Tadapani to Ghandruk

After breakfast on this day, we'd begin our descent into Ghandruk. The walk would take 3–4 hours. Don't worry; even if you're descending, you'll be going through lush forest and Bhaisi Kharka, where you'll be mesmerized by unbroken views of the Annapurna range and fascinating Gurung communities. Ghandruk is where you will spend the night.

Day 8Ghandruk to Birethanti, Nayapul and drive to Pokhara

It would take 5-6 hours to get from Ghandruk to Pokhara via Birethanti and Nayapul. The transition of views from the hills to the city creates a relaxed atmosphere and a contented expression. Night stay at Pokhara

Day 9Back to Kathmandu

We'd take a flight to Kathmandu so that we could do some touring in Bhaktapur for half a day. We'll depart from the airport and travel to Bhaktapur for lunch. Then, following a quick tour of the city, we'll drive to Nagarkot. Stay one night in Nagarkot.

Day 10Rest Day

Today you will have a rest day. You can choose to have a relaxed day or go shopping. You can also use this day to visit the remaining heritage sites in Kathmandu. Night stay in Kathmandu

Day 11Departure

We will be dropping you off at the international airport as per your flight schedule. Before that, we will have breakfast or lunch together as we conclude your trip to Nepal.
