The Ghorepani Poon hill trekking is one of the most accessible sunrise points in the Himalayas. Also, this trekking trail is very popular for short trekking and acquire not too dangerous among trekkers visiting Nepal. The trekking commences from Pokhara city which is a paradise for nature lovers. In the spring season, the Ghorepani trekking trail is ablaze with flowering rhododendrons- a paradise of the botanical.
The trek passes through Ulleri village(2,073 m). The trail ascends to the Ghorepani (2,850 m) through the thick forest and highland scrub. And, exotic plants and trees of rhododendron, magnolia, and a myriad of orchids, of course. Ghorepani has several good lodges where you can spend a night.
The main attraction of Ghorepani trekking is Poon Hill. It is situated at an altitude of 3,210 m. It is one of the most spectacular mountain spots on earth from here you can enjoy fabulous sunrise over the Himalayas. From Poon hill can enjoy splendid Himalayan views including the Mount Dhaulagiri 8,167 m, Annapurna I 8,091 m, Machhapuchhre Himal 6,998 m, Nilgiri 7,041 m, Annapurna South 7,219 m, Annapurna II 7,939 m, Annapurna III 7,555 m, Annapurna IV 7,525 m, Lamjung Himal 6,988 m.
